Exercise Routine Week 2

I was going to increase the Five by Five Challenge to three times instead of two, but didn’t. I think I might have been fighting some illness and I intended to win the battle which I did. I took Beth’s advice and listened to my body. I have no medical training so I don’t want anyone to just blindly follow what I’m doing. Listening to your own body is just common sense, however, so I can recommend that. For the same reason, you will notice that my other exercises were pretty low key as well. Chair Pilates, Warrior One, the short version of Totally Transverse, Face Exercises, and Bib Band (repeat of an exercise from last week. Chair Pilates and the Facial Exercises were new to me. Chair Pilates is done seated. The Face Exercises are fun, and I pretend that they are preventing wrinkles. They may, but I have not researched the subject. You can look at the whole list of routines and even sample a few at Fit2B . Yes, as sad before I’m an affiliate But, as you can see, I use this more

Childbirth 1965

We decided to complete the family while husband was still in the Navy so I pregnant in less than a year after Laurin’s birth. Again no health issues, but husband was to go on his first 6 month cruise. This meant I would be alone in the house. A neighbor showed up at the neighbor across the street, gun in hand because their dog was barking. Pregnancy hormones kicked in and I refused to stay in that house alone. We had to sell and I moved temporarily into an apartment just outside the base. We sold the house basically for what we owed. It had been in foreclosure, and we hadn’t paid much down on the loan. It was an easy sale; basically they took over our payments. After he left and I stayed in the apartment until closer to the time the baby was due. I chose to go home to my parent’s to have the baby, as there were so many horror stories coming out of the Navy hospital in San Diego. If the husband was deployed the Navy allowed the wife to go home to have the baby and the Navy still p

God's Covenant after the flood

We are all familiar with the story of Noah and the ark.   We know he brought all the animals two by two except the ones destined to be used for sacrifices. I didn’t find any reference to clean and unclean before the ark, but there must have been an unwritten designation. Noah was to bring the clean ones by sevens. At the end of the journey when the waters had abated, the Lord made a covenant. We are familiar with that too. The rainbow is the token of the promise. But, did you know that the covenant was not with humans. It was with all the flesh that had been on the ark and their descendants. First he just decided to not harm the earth and its inhabitants by flood again.   Gen 8:21 And when the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, the LORD said in his heart, "I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man's heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. ESV He wasn’t going to punish

Childbirth 1940

My mother wanted to continue working after she was married. My father objected, because his family would have considered him a failure, unable to support his family. Fearing that she would have nothing to do, she said “Then I want a baby.” She got pregnant on their honeymoon. And, I was her project. The pregnancy didn’t go well. She didn’t just have morning sickness; she couldn’t keep her balance and would be sick if she tried to stand and move. She said the doctors gave her intravenous glucose, but really didn’t know what was wrong. They thought perhaps Meniere's disease. As long as I knew her, she would have balance issues, usually from changes in elevation or stress. She never mentioned it happening before the marriage and pregnancy. She described lying in bed with the windows open and then a sudden storm would come. She was not even able to get up to close the windows. Living in Michigan, thunder storms would have been normal. It was also hot and humid in the summer, so

Quantum physics and God

According to quantum physics, energy becomes matter when viewed. The double-slit experiment shows that photons are waves. That is unless someone is watching and then they are particles. Even if the watching is a camera taking the picture after the passing, this occurs. So either watching changes past events or matter can read your mind to see if you are going to take a picture. I don’t know about you, but I am not really comfortable about my coffee knowing when I am about to drink it. Not fond of the cup knowing I am looking at it, and when I look away. New age practitioners use this information to teach that we humans can create our own worlds in this way. This is true in some ways, but it doesn’t explain how the world itself remains. No human is viewing the entire universe, not even earth. Even if we allow for the entire human race, we can’t see all of it. I believe there is a clue in the Bible as there is about all questions we have about our home universe. Starting in G
